An Icelandic software engineer!

Hi, I'm Hanna! I am passionate about creating secure and meaningful software - but since you're here, you probably already knew that. So let me tell you a bit about myself beyond programming.
I have a positive mindset and am always up for a challenge. One of the qualities I value most in myself is my resilience — I don't give up easily, even when things get tough. I absolutely love to travel and connect with people from all over the world. I've been fortunate enough to visit many places, with South Korea and Japan being some of my most recent (and exciting!) adventures.
I'm from Iceland so I appreciate the calm of nature, but I've also lived in New York City and now London and I thrive in big city environments. I believe that software should be as diverse as the people who use it. Learning from different perspectives helps me grow and become a better developer. I can't know everything, of course, but learning from others is eye-opening. I'm especially passionate about encouraging young girls to explore tech and highlighting the importance of diverse teams.
When things get challenging, I rely on structure and positivity. I love scheduling and planning, and I'm a big believer in the power of positive thinking. Outside of work, you'll often find me out for a run or doing something outdoors. That's the Icelander in me, no matter the weather, we'll go outside...or grab an ice cream.
In addition to the projects shown on the Projects page, I've worked on several system-level, machine learning, and security-focused assignments as part of my MSc and BSc. I've also contributed backend features during internships at Dohop and Origo. Feel free to reach out and ask me more about any of these! 😊
